Taste of Story Tapestries: A 10 Year Celebration of Giving Back to the Community and Supporting Our Community

Join Story Tapestries for a virtual event filled with performances and conversation. A Taste of Story Tapestries: A 10th Anniversary Celebration is happening on October 16 from 5:30 to 7 pm with a VIP reception from 5-5:30 pm. It includes:

A Celebrity Emcee, Michael Bobbitt, Nationally Renowned Theatre Director
Performances & Testimonials from Catherine Leggett, Councilmember Evan Glass, Musician Kelvin Dukes, Slam Poet Regie Cabico
A Debut Performance by Nationally Renowned Performer, Arianna Ross

In just 10 years, Story Tapestries has reached over 840,000 individuals by delivering programs in more than 1,200 spaces, including 100’s of schools. Recently, Aimee Belt, a Special Education Teacher told us, “I can honestly say the students surprised themselves with the amount of writing they were able to accomplish…I think this was a great investment in these students. I know they will never forget this experience.” Since the pandemic, Story Tapestries has quickly shifted its focus to augment programs and provide greater access to distance learning for children and families while schools are closed to in-person learning, successfully reaching 10,930+ households. We are working towards giving 10,000 activity kits for students without access to basic supplies such as pencils and crayons. As you can imagine, all of this has caused a serious strain on resources available and we fear that the educational gap is growing wider by the day for the children we serve.
